The gabarre: captain your own boat!
The gabarre is a small flat-bottom boat, which was traditionally used on the Lot and
Dordogne rivers in times past. You do not need a licence to drive these boats. You can rent them with your whole family and take a ride on the River Lot between Bouziès and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. There are many little beaches on the banks of the river where you can stop for a swim or for lunch.
Boat trips on the Lot
To take advantage of the beautiful scenery and learn about the nature and history as you go, take a guided trip along the river in one of the many boats that go up and down the Lot. Excursions can last a day or just an hour. The boat trips are available from April to October. Thanks to 17 manual locks, boats can navigate along a 75km stretch of the River Lot. A visit not to be missed!
